Stage 2: Certificate
This stage is for schools that are ready to commit to the process. Student leaders focus on finding ways to increase the range, type and frequency of school-based PA opportunities.
Schools may spend one or two years at this stage.
Stage 3: Flag
This stage is for schools where the process has started to embed.
Student leaders expand their focus to raise awareness about community- based PA opportunities and facilities.
Schools may spend one or two years at this stage.
*Post Primary schools wishing to be awarded with the Active School Flag must be able to confirm that they are meeting DEY recommendations in relation to PE timetable provision, at all class levels, and that suitably qualified teachers are timetabled to teach PE.
